Your living room is where Family and friends gather for holidays, parties, movie nights.. You want to be in a space that you, and your company, feel good in. Having a comfy, quality space that flows is key. Staging can be everything.

Lots of research went into finding some of the best staging strategies to have your living room looking and feeling its best. If you want dazzle and style added to your space, check out some of these staging strategies for inspiration.

  1. Lighting – The right lighting can completely transform your space into a warm space. It can be inviting and create a “feel good” delightful warmth. Use sheer curtains, lamps and lighting fixtures to transform the lighting in your living room.
  2. Clutter free– Clear all of the clutter from surfaces such as end tables, coffee tables, shelves, and any surfaces. Clutter is an instant eye sore.
  3. Furniture– Make sure your furniture fits your space. Having the right size and amount of furniture is everything when focusing on the flow of your space.Take careful consideration when choosing furniture-move things around to find the right fit. If possible don’t have all of your furniture pushed up against walls.
  4. House Plants– House plants not only add quality to the air in your space, along with providing other health benefits-They also add a great decor touch, and can ever add the illusion of making a room look larger.
  5. Area Rugs– Add warmth and comfort when staging a room. An area rug is the missing piece to the puzzle- ties everything together. Keep not only area rugs, but all floors clean!
  6. Curtains– Placing curtains higher then the window can give an illusion the room is taller. Pick lighter colored curtains to allow the light to shine through, it will also make the room look larger.
  7. Throw Pillows– They should add color to the room. Try to keep the rest of the room neutral, but not boring.
  8. Dust– Don’t forget to dust! Cobwebs, high spaces, and light fixtures/ceilings fans.
  9. Wall Decor– Don’t leave the walls blank. Placement is everything, take careful consideration when making a decision on wall decor. What you put on your walls and the placement and appropriate sizing is very important. Keep in mind that mirrors can make your space look bigger.
  10. Accessories– looks like the rule of thumb, for a visually appealing look, use three! Accessories in groups of three or use odd numbers.
